Columbus Community Hospital Announces Newest Certified Medical Examiner

Columbus Community Hospital congratulates Dr. Vilma Rodriguez-Cline on her certification and listing as a medical examiner on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.

Certified medical examiners in the registry determine whether interstate commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers meet the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) physical qualification standards. Before becoming part of the registry, they must be certified by the FMCSA.

To become certified, a doctor must be licensed, certified or registered to perform physical examinations following state laws and regulations, register on the national registry website and receive a unique national registry number. The doctor must complete training and pass the National Registry Medical Examiner Certification Test.

Dr. Cline will now be able to provide physical qualification examinations for commercial drivers at Occupational Health Services. She will also be listed on the national database of certified medical examiners.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Cline receive this certification,” said Danielle Frewing, director of Occupational Health Services. “Not only is this a great accomplishment for Dr. Cline, but it also allows us to provide essential services to our community.”
