With Avera and CNOS’s long-standing presence in the tri-state area, both organizations see opportunities to further strengthen health care delivery across the region.
“We had a long and thoughtful process, which included input from our stakeholders, on what CNOS was looking for in a partner,” said Nolan Lubarski, Chief Executive Officer of CNOS. “It became very clear early in our conversations that our visions for the future of health care in this region were aligned. Avera and CNOS share similar values, including a strong commitment to clinical excellence, patient-centered care and community service. We are excited to be part of this growing organization.”
CNOS formed in the 1990s and offers comprehensive care to the Siouxland region in Northwest Iowa. The group has grown through strategic alignments and mergers with other specialty practices, expanding clinical capabilities and providers. Today CNOS provides outreach services to 29 satellite locations.
Avera Currently, there are two Avera and seven partner hospitals in Iowa, as well as 15 clinics and many outreach locations for specialty care. This acquisition expands Avera’s specialty care offerings and better coordinates services to allow a more integrated care experience to better support the growing Northwest Iowa region. “Avera has built a great network of clinics and hospitals across the Siouxland region. These locations already collaborate closely with the physicians at CNOS,” said David Flicek, Chief Operating Officer with Avera. “This group is well known for excellence in quality outcomes and patient care. We are excited to welcome them to Avera and look forward to providing even greater continuity of care for the patients and communities we serve.”
The partnership will include eight clinic locations. Workforce is a top priority for Avera and CNOS. "Our culture is defined by the dedication and compassion of our providers and employees," said Lubarski. "Because our organizations share the same commitment, this relationship is a natural fit. Together, we'll strengthen our mission and expand our ability to deliver exceptional care to more people."CNOS is contacting patients today to notify them of this partnership.
