Columbus Community Hospital Volunteer and Guest Services Division Releases 2024–25 Annual Report

The volunteer & guest services department at Columbus Community Hospital (CCH) has released its 2024-25 Annual Report, highlighting a year of remarkable growth, dedicated service and profound community impact. The report covers achievements from May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025.

The report shows the extensive contributions of CCH's volunteers and guest services team across a wide array of programs designed to enhance the patient, visitor and staff experience.

Key highlights from the 2024-25 fiscal year include:

  • VIP transportation: Assisted 2,947 patients with 16 drivers within a 50-mile radius.

  • Blood drives: Hosted 12 blood drives, collecting 322 units of whole blood and 79 units of “power reds.”

  • Fundraising success: Hosted 10 fundraisers that funded medical equipment and program advancements.

  • Meals on Wheels: Served 150 subscribers with a total of 261,724 meals.

  • Safe at Home: Supported 152 active subscribers with personal emergency response systems.

  • VolunTEEN program growth: Nearly doubled from 38 in May 2024 to 73 in May 2025, providing 1,716 service hours.

  • Outstanding Volunteer of the Year: Michelle Kissell received the 2025 award for her dedicated hospice volunteer service.

  • Nurse Corps: Nine retired CCH nurses provided blood pressure screenings

This year's annual report underscores CCH's mission to improve the health of the communities we serve and its vision to compassionately deliver the state's highest quality patient care, upheld by values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence.
