Community Hospital Health Foundation Advances Clinical Education With QCPR Manikins
The Community Hospital Health Foundation has provided funding for new QCPR Manikins to enhance hands-on training in Community Hospital’s Clinical Education program.
The QCPR Manikins deliver real-time feedback during CPR training, helping learners build confidence, accuracy, and life-saving skills. The new equipment includes two complete training sets, with manikins representing infant, child, and adult patients—ensuring comprehensive, scenario-based learning across all age groups.
“These manikins elevate our training by providing immediate feedback, which is critical for mastering life-saving techniques,” said Todd Hovey, BSN, RN, NREMT, EMS-I, Clinical Educator and Stroke Coordinator.
Community Hospital offers training for healthcare providers, first responders, and the public, including CPR, First Aid, and advanced life support certifications. Outreach education is also provided to local businesses, schools, and emergency response agencies.
This investment builds on prior Health Foundation support for emergency preparedness training resources, including the “Disasters in Seconds” mass-casualty training system.
“Supporting education is a powerful way to improve care and save lives,” said Jessica Bortner, Executive Director of the Community Hospital Health Foundation.
The public is invited to experience the new QCPR Manikins firsthand during Community Hospital’s Third Thursday event this Thursday, May 21, beginning at 5 p.m. in downtown McCook.
