Hoerner Named New Inpatient Care and Case Management Nursing Director at Brookings Hospital

Inpatient Care Nursing Director Austin Hoerner, RN

Austin Hoerner, RN, has been promoted as the new inpatient care and case management nursing director at Brookings Hopsital.

In this role, Hoerner coordinates and manages all aspects of care for inpatient, intensive care unit (ICU) and swing bed patients as well as case management services at Brookings Hospital. He will work closely with physicians, nursing team members and ancillary departments within the health system to promote optimal patient outcomes and ensure every patient is progressing forward with the goal of a timely and safe discharge. In addition, he will assume supervisory responsibilities for the inpatient care and case management staff. 

Hoerner holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Presentation College and became a registered nurse in 2018. Most recently, he has served as a floor nurse at Brookings Health System’s inpatient care unit. He brings experience from Black Hills Surgical Hospital Pain Clinic, Medical Air Rescue Company and The Endoscopy Center in Rapid City, S.D.  Hoerner has two years of experience in the ICU and progressive care unit at Monument Health in Rapid City, S.D. as well.
