Sanford Health's Brad Reimer Wins 2026 Minnesota ORBIE Award
Brad Reimer, chief technology and digital officer at Sanford Health, has been named the winner of a 2026 Minnesota ORBIE Award in the large enterprise category. He was among five other finalists considered in this category, including chief information officers from Land O’ Lakes, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and the state of Minnesota.
“Technology is now central to how rural health systems expand access, improve outcomes and reimagine care delivery,” Reimer said. “At Sanford Health, our work is focused on using digital innovation, data and artificial intelligence responsibly to bring care closer to patients, support clinicians and close gaps that are especially visible across rural America. This recognition reflects the talent and discipline of our technology, digital and security teams, and it reinforces Sanford Health’s opportunity to help shape what modern, connected and accessible health care can look like for communities across the country.”
More than 200 nominations were received for this year's awards. The ORBIE awards honor the best of the best – leaders who create business value and drive meaningful change.
Finalists and winners are selected through an independent peer-adjudicated process led by prior ORBIE recipients based on the following criteria:
Leadership and management effectiveness
Business value created by technology innovation and enterprise security
Engagement in industry and community endeavors
Under Reimer’s leadership, Sanford has become a catalyst for innovation, resilience and access across the nation’s largest rural health system. By strengthening infrastructure and digital platforms, Sanford’s IT team enabled a leading virtual care program, bringing high-quality care to patients across vast rural geographies.
