Box Butte General Hospital Sleep Lab Earns ACHC Accreditation

Box Butte General Hospital is proud to announce that it has achieved accreditation through Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) for its Sleep Study services. This accreditation recognizes the hospital’s adherence to rigorous standards in patient safety, clinical excellence, and diagnostic accuracy. Gail Burke, Accreditation Specialist at BBGH, emphasized the team effort behind the achievement. “This accreditation is a direct reflection of the staff and their commitment to excellence and to the patients we serve.”

Quality sleep is essential to overall health, and this achievement reinforces BBGH’s commitment to providing exceptional care close to home. “Patients can feel confident that they are receiving the highest standards of testing and treatment without having to travel far,” said Clinical Nurse Manager Brianna Sherlock. The BBGH Sleep Lab provides comprehensive testing, including both in-lab and at-home sleep testing, to accurately identify conditions like obstructive sleep apnea.

Treatment options may include CPAP therapy, lifestyle changes, and coordination with providers for ongoing care. “Many patients don’t realize how much untreated sleep disorders can affect their daily lives,” said Respiratory Therapist Toni Girard, “but with a sleep study, we are able to diagnose and help patients breathe easier, sleep better, and improve their overall health.” Sleep disorders often go undiagnosed, impacting everything from heart heath to mental well-being. With accredited services now in place, BBGH is better equipped to help patients get the answers and the rest they need.
