Babel Named Practice Manager for Columbus Cardiology Clinic
Columbus Community Hospital recently announced Ann Babel as the practice manager for the new Columbus Cardiology Clinic. She will oversee the clinic’s staff and day-to-day operations in this position.
"Ann is an extremely dedicated and knowledgeable practice manager in all aspects of clinic operations. She successfully leads highly productive teams," said Korie Whitmore, director of clinics at Columbus Community Hospital. "She is passionate about her work and treats every patient like family. We are excited to have Ann's leadership and experience in our cardiology clinic."
After high school, Babel attended Central Community College and received her associate’s degree in medical office technology. Upon receiving her degree, she worked in various health care settings performing billing and office work in dental offices, family practice clinics, non-emergent ambulance transportation businesses and a federally qualified community health center.
In 2013, she returned to school to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in health care management. She joined Columbus Community Hospital in April 2018 as the practice manager when the hospital acquired Columbus General Surgery.
Babel will remain practice manager at Columbus General Surgery and assume the additional role of practice manager for the Columbus Cardiology Clinic when the clinic opens May 1.
"I am excited for the opportunity to continue working with an amazing team at Columbus General Surgery and the team at the Columbus Cardiology Clinic," Babel said. "Adding cardiology services to our outpatient clinics allows us to care for patients in our community who do not have a cardiology home. I look forward to evolving new relationships that align with the hospital's mission, while being part of a team whose members understand the significance they add to our patient's health care journey."
The Columbus Cardiology Clinic will offer full-service cardiology services with a primary focus on post-cardiac catheterization patients. The outpatient clinic in the Healthpark Medical Office Building, adjacent to Columbus Community Hospital, at 4508 38th St., Suite 210, will be open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
