Avera Recognized as One of Becker’s 2024 Outstanding Behavioral Health Programs

Avera has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of 60 hospitals or health systems offering great behavioral and psychiatric health services for 2024.

According to Becker’s, hospitals and health systems were selected for their unwavering commitment to improving mental and behavioral health. Through thoughtfully designed programs and services, they aim to enhance quality of life and provide comprehensive support for patients’ emotional and psychiatric wellbeing, while advancing research and innovation in the field.

Avera has been a leader in psychiatry and behavioral health services for 60 years.  While many health systems have stepped away from behavioral health and psychiatric services over the last decades, Avera has expanded in this arena with innovations, new facilities, and new programs and services throughout the region including 146 specialized inpatient beds for senior, adult, adolescent and child, adult and adolescent residential addiction care programs and recently opening a 24/7 behavioral health urgent care addressing behavioral health crises.
