Altru Begins Groundbreaking Philanthropic Capital Campaign

Altru Foundation announced the launch of its first-ever major  philanthropic capital campaign during the 2024 Altru Gala on Saturday, September 21st. The  campaign will support Altru’s new hospital and surrounding campus at Columbia Road. Funds  raised through this year’s gala will support the project and contribute to the overall campaign  goal.

During the event, Chief Philanthropy and Partnership Officer, Kristi Hall-Jiran, shared, “I am  incredibly excited to announce that we are in the final phase of a historic fundraising campaign  – a first of its kind for Altru. We started out with a lofty goal in 2021 - $13.5 million. Since then,  this community has stepped up big, giving gifts from $100 to $1 million dollars and resulting in  the largest single fundraising initiative in Altru’s history, with over $13 million raised to date.”  At the end of the evening, Altru Foundation revealed gala sponsors and attendees had raised  over $435,000. With a matching gift of $250,000 from Lunseth Plumbing and Heating  announced that evening, the total event impact came in at over $685,000. The gala marked  one of the organization’s most successful events ever, resulting in the campaign surpassing its  goal at $13.6 million.

Brittany Caillier, Director of Philanthropy at Altru, shared her gratitude for all who have  supported this historic effort, “On behalf of Altru Foundation, I would like to thank everyone  who has been involved in this campaign. We are extremely proud and humbled by the  community’s philanthropic support that has helped us reach this incredible milestone.”

“Our community has truly rallied for Altru through this project” shared Dr. Josh Deere, President  of Altru. “This campaign means much more than just a building – it’s about continuing to  provide the highest-level care our family and friends deserve.”

The planned grand opening for the new hospital is in January 2025. The seven-floor facility will  feature space for 226 licensed patient beds, a 16-bed observation unit, and 14 operating rooms.  The design has a strong focus on innovation, technology, and wellness.

The new hospital campaign will continue until the planned grand opening in January, with  additional funds supporting special features and future phases, such as landscaping, artwork,  and equipment, as well as a dedicated endowment for facility and campus improvements. Altru  Foundation will share information on upcoming events and more ways to get involved in the  coming months.
