14 UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Nurses Recognized as 2025 ‘Outstanding Iowa Nurses’

Des Moines is honored to recognize 14 nurses practicing at our UnityPoint  Health – Des Moines facilities and affiliates across central Iowa who have been selected as 2025 Great Iowa Nurses. This prestigious award annually recognizes nurses for their  outstanding contributions to their patients, team members and the nursing profession. 

“I’m incredibly proud of our nurse honorees and I’m truly grateful for the positive impact they’ve made on the lives of others,” said UnityPoint Health Chief Nursing Officer Sarah Brown. “They go above and beyond every day, providing the care experience we want our own loved ones to  receive.”

  • Jami Malone, BSN, RN – Stroke/Neurology

  • Terry Neal, MSN, RN, CPEN – Clinical Professional Development 

“I am thrilled to see these UPH-DM nurses bestowed the honor of being named a 2025 Great  Iowa Nurse,” said UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Chief Nursing Officer Denise Cundy.  “Beyond providing exceptional care for patients, they advance professional nursing practice by  examining evidence, and by using technology, innovation and process improvement  methodologies. We are extremely proud of them!”
