Cybersecurity knowledge is evolving just as rapidly as the technology itself. In healthcare, where sensitive and personal data is handled daily, staying current on myth versus reality is vital. As IT threats continue to rise, it is necessary for organizations to protect their company’s most vulnerable assets. In 2019 alone, there were 1,473 data breaches with over 164 million data records exposed and millions in lost revenue. With the world of technology always evolving, it is important to stay ahead of these threats and be prepared when an incident does occur.
HPN has worked with many companies to ensure that rapid changes to their IT environments do not lead to increase cyber-threats. Our security team is busy working with customers to identify vulnerabilities ahead of time, before they can have detrimental impact in the future.

The scenario is enough to terrify most business owners: When trying to access a computer file, the user suddenly receives a notification that the file has been encrypted and the only way to unlock it is to pay. It is called a ransomware attack and, when it happens in healthcare, the ramifications can reach far beyond expense and inconvenience.
