Summit Junior Volleyball To Become Sanford Sports Academy Volleyball

Sanford Sports Academy Volleyball

Sanford Sports is adding a volleyball academy to the Fargo-Moorhead region.

Summit Junior Volleyball will become Sanford Sports Academy Volleyball once the club season ends on May 13. Sanford Sports Academy Volleyball will be housed in the brand-new Fargo Parks Sports Center at the Sanford Sports Complex, which is slated to open in June.

Pete Tomhave, the current Summit Junior Volleyball club director and coach, will lead Sanford Sports Academy Volleyball, serving as the lead sports academy specialist. Tomhave played 23 years competitively and also played beach volleyball on numerous mini tours across the Upper Midwest, Canada and Northern California. He has been the director of Summit Junior Volleyball for 11 years.

“I am thrilled for Summit Junior Volleyball to become Sanford Sports Academy Volleyball.  This is going to be a partnership that benefits so many young athletes in our area,” said Tomhave, a Fargo native. “Playing at the Sanford Sports Complex is going to be a game-changer.  Current and aspiring young athletes are going to have every amenity available to help make them successful.”

Starting on June 3, Sanford Sports Academy Volleyball will begin hosting camps and clinics inside the Fargo Parks Sports Center at the Sanford Sports Complex.  Registration is now open for summer programming. The Sanford Sports Academy will hold tryouts later this year for teams that will compete in the 2025 season.

“We are excited to help grow the game of volleyball to our youth in the Fargo-Moorhead region,” said Todd Kolb, Sanford Sports Academy director. “Pete’s experience from his playing days and current leadership role will give our athletes a step up in developing their skills and knowledge of the game. Summit Junior Volleyball is well-renowned and well-respected, and we are fortunate to make this merger happen.”

Fargo is also home to Sanford Sports Academy Basketball and Sanford Sports Academy Golf.  For more information, visit sanfordsports.com.
