Gina Olson Honored With DAISY Award For Extraordinary Nurses

Gina Olson

Gina Olson recently received Columbus Community Hospital’s DAISY Award for the first quarter of 2024. Olson is a registered nurse in the hospital’s home health and hospice department.

The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates nurses’ extraordinary clinical skills and compassionate care. CCH is a DAISY Award Partner and recognizes one of its nurses with this special honor each quarter.

The spouse of a former patient nominated Olson for the award. In his nomination letter, the spouse praised Olson for her attentive and compassionate care during each hospice visit.

“Gina always had a smile on her face and portrayed a positive attitude,” he said. “She made us feel comfortable and put our minds at ease. She helped make this life-changing time in our lives more manageable and something we could handle.”

Olson was honored with an award presentation on Tuesday, April 2.

Patients, visitors, nurses, physicians, and staff can nominate a deserving nurse by filling out the “Nurse Nomination Form” at columbushosp.org. Nominations received after the winner is chosen for that quarter will be eligible for the next DAISY Award.
