Mary Lanning Healthcare Clinic (MLH) Manager To Speak At National Conference

The manager of Hastings Family Care has been invited to speak at the 2024 Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS24) conference in March.

Jessica Sutton will discuss how Hastings Family Care has used the Eyenuk with Eye Art technology to help patients scan for diabetic retinopathy at the primary care clinic. The Eyenuk allows Hastings Family Care providers to screen patients with diabetes for more-than-mild or vision-threatening diabetic retinopathy, an eye condition that causes vision loss and blindness. This point of care screening option allows MLH primary care to capture patients who otherwise haven’t received screening through an eyecare professional. They can then use findings to refer the patient to a local eyecare professional for further care.

The HIMSS24 presentation, Artificial Intelligence Unites Rural and Academic Centers: Revolutionizing Diabetic Eye Screening, also involves Dr. Steven Yeh from the University of Nebraska Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, and Kaushal Solanki, Eyenuk Founder & CEO.
