Essentia Health Receives Nearly $30,000 for Breast Cancer Patients

A successful month of fundraising for the annual “Bras on Big 98.7” campaign resulted in representatives from Big 98.7, Corwin Automotive and D-S Beverages presenting Essentia Health with a pair of checks totaling $29,700 earlier this morning.

The month-long event raises awareness and funds for breast cancer and supports those patients at the Essentia Health Cancer Center with things such as gas cards, lodging vouchers, gift cards for grocery stores and assistance with wig costs.

Corwin Automotive donated $10,000, or $5 for every bra that people dropped off at a Corwin location over the past month (up to 2,000 bras). D-S Beverages “turned the taps pink” throughout October and donated 25 cents for each pint and $1 for each case of Michelob Ultra sold at participating locations.

“Every year, the Foundation gives over $40,000 in support to patients of the Cancer Center, and we could not do this without this outstanding support from Corwin Automotive, D-S Beverages and Big 98.7,” said Susan Omdalen, executive director of the Essentia Health Foundation-West. “This event each October has truly made a huge impact on the patients we are privileged to care for at Essentia Health.”
