Sanford Health announced today that it will begin offering COVID-19 vaccines without an appointment at the Sanford Ninth Street Special Care Unit in Bismarck.
“The Ninth Street Special Care Unit vaccination clinic has served between 700-750 patients per day,” said Wendy Kopp, Sanford Vice President of Nursing. “By welcoming walk-in patients, we hope to increase vaccination rates and offer a wider availability to the Bismarck-Mandan community.”
The clinic, located at 600 N. Ninth St. in Bismarck, is open Tuesday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Patients who prefer to schedule an appointment can do so through My Sanford Chart or at sanfordhealth.org. To enroll in My Sanford Chart, visit mysanfordchart.org.
The vaccine is available to any eligible person age 16 and older in North Dakota. Individuals do not have to be Sanford Health patients to receive the vaccine from Sanford.
One adult visitor may accompany a patient who needs assistance. Face masks and physical distancing are required. Patients will be observed on site for 15 minutes after receiving their COVID-19 vaccine. The most common side effects are injection site pain, soreness and swelling.
If you have general questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, please call the My Sanford Nurse line at 800-821-5167 and press option 2. My Sanford Nurse is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
