Brown Clinic has announced the retirement of Jim Vachal, CAO. Mr. Vachal will be retiring from the CAO position at the end of August. Jim joined Brown Clinic in 2000 and was instrumental in the forming of Brown Clinic, PLLP after their separation from Central Plains Clinic. Jim has served as the CAO for 20 years.

Following an extensive search process, the Brown Clinic Physician Partners are pleased to announce the selection of Scott A. Duke, to the position of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

“We’re looking forward to having Scott join the Brown Clinic Care Team," shared Hollis Nipe, MD, General Partner. “Scott brings more than 30 years of healthcare knowledge and experience, including administrative leadership of single and multispecialty clinics. Given Scott’s background and experience, we’re confident that Brown Clinic will continue to thrive while remaining firmly committed to preventive medicine and the needs of the community through educational programs, wellness screenings, and primary care.”

Duke comes to the Brown Clinic with a successful history in rural healthcare management. He is knowledgeable in strategic visioning, medical staff relations, recruitment, and the various aspects of outpatient clinic operations. Duke completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Minot State University, Minot, ND.

“It is an honor to join the Brown Clinic Team! It is a talented group of 16 physicians, 10 non-physician clinicians, and over 130 employees. It is especially humbling to follow in the excellence in leadership provided by Jim Vachal. My wife Darcy and I are excited to become a part of the Watertown community,” commented Duke.
