Modern Day Health Care, a Virtual Clinic, is Offering now Physical Therapy

Modern Day Health Care (MDHC) is an advanced practice nurse owned and operated health care clinic, closing a gap in the rural health care landscape by using modern technology and telemedicine to offer acute and primary care services.

With the addition of Dr. Mikala Simon, MDHC is now able to offer physical therapy to their patients. Telemedicine allows flexible care for patients from anywhere and with that promoting successful completion of physical therapy treatment plans. Therapists can check patient progress, address issues, and assist with exercises and other treatments.

The approach maximizes efficient use of time for the patients. “Many patients that require physical therapy are not able to drive for some time”, says Dr. Simons “getting to a clinic is a hassle and the need of finding a driver often leads to missed appointments. The virtual visit eliminates that, and the therapy has a much better outcome.” Dr. Mikala Simon and her 2 daughters and husband call Aberdeen, SD home.

She received her Bachelor of Science from University of South Dakota and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Rockhurst University in Kansas City. She has been practicing physical therapy for nearly 6 years with extended time treating women's health, pediatrics and telehealth. She enjoys yoga, crafting and vlogging. Dr. Simon is excited to be part of a skilled and passionate team of practitioners at Modern Day Healthcare. Whether the physical goals are to decrease pain, achieve improved balance, help a child
