Bhaskar Purushottam, M.D., an Interventional Cardiologist and Vascular Specialist at Regional Health Heart and Vascular Institute in Rapid City, has been selected to be a presenter on six separate subjects during the upcoming LINC 2020 Vascular Symposium in Leipzig, Germany.

LINC is the largest vascular conference in the world. It brings together nearly 5,000 attendees from all across the globe from multiple specialties such as vascular surgery, interventional cardiology, interventional radiology and vascular medicine. It is designed to foster collaboration between colleagues in different specialties and to promote endovascular therapies that can be incorporated into daily clinical practice.

The Leipzig conference is scheduled for Jan. 28 to 31. Dr. Purushottam will lecture about innovative and novel approaches and techniques for treating complex peripheral arterial and venous disease.

Dr. Purushottam said he submitted six presentation proposals, hoping one would be selected. He was surprised when he was invited to present all six.

“It is a privilege to be invited to present at this renowned conference,” Dr. Purushottam said. “This is a great way to showcase Regional Health/Monument Health on the international map of vascular excellence. We have a great team here and I am very proud of it.”

Dr. Purushottam has been on the medical staff of the Heart and Vascular Institute for four years. In December 2017 he was named Medical Director of Black Hills Cardiovascular Research, and in July 2018 he was named Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab at Regional Health Rapid City Hospital.
