Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services thanks the community of Viborg, and surrounding area, for coming to the 60th Anniversary, in conjunction with Oktoberfest, that was held on Sunday, October 20th at the Viborg Community Center. The event was a great success, as we served 350 people!
A big thank you to Kayla Nielsen and Turkey Creek Revival Band for providing great music during the event! Thank you to Robert Rasmussen for providing the pork loin, Annie Wurtz for the fantastic macaroni salad and taverns, and Patt Flemming for the delicious bars!
Congratulations to Cheri O’Dell for winning the raffle for the ¼ beef from Dick’s Country Meats, and to Kendel Tronbak for winning the 2nd place prize of $100. Also congratulations to Ruth Schilberg for winning the 50/50 raffle. All the proceeds from the raffles went towards the new dining room tables and chairs in the Nursing Home and Dementia Unit.
Melanie Parsons, Board President, and Tom Richter, PMH&HS CEO, spoke during the event. Tom said, “60 years ago on September 6, 1959, Pioneer Memorial Hospital held its open house. It took a visionary and leader like Dr. Carlos Kemper, who practiced medicine in Viborg from 1937-1975, to recognize the need for a new hospital and the determination to get it built. Today, Viborg is very blessed to have a healthcare system that offers a continuum of care to residents so they do not have to leave the community as their needs change. It was a community support that built the first hospital and it will be community support that will determine the future success of Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services.”
Thank you for attending the 60th Anniversary celebration and showing your support!
