Regional Recognized for Workplace Health

The American Heart Association announced that Regional Health has earned Silver Level recognition for taking significant steps to build a culture of workplace health. It’s the second year in a row that Regional Health has been recognized.

The American Heart Association Workplace Health Achievement Index allows organizations to qualify for bronze, silver or gold level recognition based on their total Index score. It’s based on a set of AHA best practices for employers to build a culture of health in the workplace.

LiveWell, Regional Health’s voluntary well-being initiative, is a comprehensive well-being approach that offers support, resources and rewards for those who take steps to care for themselves. LiveWell addresses each aspect of well-being, offering something for everyone no matter where they stand on the journey to optimal wellness. Programming and resources include:

  *   Financial incentive for caregivers who practice self-care.
  *   FREE onsite gym membership at each Regional Health hospital (excluding Sports Performance Institute).
  *   Health assessments.
  *   Biometric screenings.
  *   LiveWell online wellbeing portal.
  *   Employee assistance program.

“Regional Health has made it a priority to be a great place to work, and we put a lot of emphasis on maintaining a healthy and productive work environment for all of our caregivers,” said Tresha Moreland, Regional Health Vice President of Human Resources. “This recognition from the American Heart Association is really gratifying, because it shows that our caregivers take their health seriously and want to help maintain a great workplace.”

The AHA created the index with its CEO Roundtable, a leadership collaborative of more than 40 CEOs from some of America’s largest companies who are committed to applying evidence-based approaches to improve their employees’ overall health. The Index uses science-based best practices to evaluate the quality and comprehensiveness of their workplace health programs.

Studies show that worksites with a culture of health, comprehensive, evidence-based policies and programs and senior leadership support are more likely to have engaged employees and a healthier, more productive workforce.
