The specialty-trained orthopedic surgeons and providers at Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center will proudly continue their sports medicine coverage as part of the official sports medicine team for the Black Hills Rapids Soccer Club at the growing Dakota Fields Sports Complex, a world-class soccer facility where thousands of area youth are provided the opportunity to train and play, at 3737 North Elk Vale Road.

The sports medicine team is a collaboration between Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center, Black Hills Surgical Hospital, ProMotion Physical Therapy, The Rehab Doctors and Physio Performance. Together, these specialty-trained providers and the sports medicine doctors and staff offer athletes sideline medical coverage, orthopedic care, athletic training, occupational therapy, ImPACT® concussion testing, strength training and conditioning, physical therapy and rehabilitative care to the Black Hills Rapids, as well as coverage for the region’s youth athletes, at the Dakota Fields Sports Complex.

“At Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center, we provide sports medicine coverage for a number of high school collegiate, and club teams in the region, and we are proud to provide care for the elite athletes of the Black Hills Rapids and the youth of Rapid City at the Dakota Fields Sports Complex,” says Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center CEO Kyle L. Wiese. “The goal of our fellowship-trained doctors and staff is always to help athletes of all ages stay healthy and safe while maximizing their potential, and volunteering specialized sports medicine coverage is one of the ways we can realize that goal.”

Recently, Medical Facilities Corporation, part owner of the Black Hills Surgical Hospital, announced it is donating $175,000 to the Dakota Fields Sports Complex. The donation, complemented by the full range of high-quality services from the Black Hills Surgical Hospital Sports Medicine team, including Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center, serves to provide a superior environment for the safety and development of the local athletes.

Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center, P.C. and the Black Hills Surgical Hospital Sports Medicine team also proudly provide sports medicine coverage for several local rodeos and area athletic teams, including Central High School, Chadron State College, St. Thomas More High School, Stevens High School, Sturgis Brown High School and the Justin Boots Sports Medicine Team, to name a few. Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center includes 17 fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons, with 5 of those orthopedic surgeons holding fellowship training in sports medicine care – more than any other orthopedic practice in the region – allowing them to accommodate student athletes, weekend warriors, and other active people of all ages.
