Sanford Health Rock Rapids clinic opens May 1

The Sanford Rock Rapids clinic will open its doors at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. A community grand opening celebration with facility tours will be held 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.

Located at 104 Buncombe Drive - on the corner of Highway 9 and Buncombe Drive - the $5.15 million clinic is 9,600 square feet and is equipped with 10 clinic exam rooms, two procedure rooms, and two rehabilitation treatment rooms. The same health care providers who are currently serving the community will staff the clinic. 

“This clinic is convenient for patients in Lyon County,” said Tammy Loosbrock, senior director of Sanford Rock Rapids “Sanford Health has been caring for the people of this area since the 1990s. We are excited to have this beautiful new building with state of the art technology all in a location that is easy to get to.” 

The new building will increase access to services by providing larger lab and physical therapy areas as well as centralized scheduling and registration. It will offer family medicine by appointment and walk-in, urgent care, OB-GYN, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cardiac rehab, laboratory and radiology. Outreach services will include mammography, MRI, nuclear medicine, cardiology, general surgery, vascular surgery and orthopedics. In addition, the clinic will include a pharmacy. For the convenience of patients, the clinic also has extended hours including 7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. 

The clinic will also include designated space for educational purposes. A community room will provide space for educational opportunities for patients and support groups. The exterior includes the distinctive Sanford Health architectural design.
