Mercy Medical Center-Sioux City is honored to be the sole Siouxland hospital to be named by the American Heart Association as one of the best hospitals in the country in treating heart attack, heart failure, and stroke.
Mercy has earned the American Heart Association Gold Plus Heart Failure recognition and Silver Plus Stroke recognition. These recognitions are awarded to hospitals that demonstrate a high commitment to following guidelines that improve patient outcomes. (These two awards focus on evidence based inpatient care)
Mercy is the only hospital in Iowa to secure a spot as a Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus award winner. This award reinforces Mercy's commitment to reducing the amount of time from patient arrival to treatment of acute ischemic stroke.
In addition, Mercy Medical Center has earned Gold honors for Mission: Lifeline, which aims to reduce the amount of time from arrival to treatment of acute heart attack and improve patient care from arrival to discharge.
