Sanford Children’s Specialty Clinic expands care to Watertown

A fellowship trained pediatric nephrologist is joining the team at Sanford Health Watertown Clinic. Justin Kastl, M.D. began outreach services in Watertown on Aug. 18.

Kastl received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas, and did residency work at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City where he also completed a fellowship in pediatric nephrology. Kastl holds certification from the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Nephrology.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to offer specialized care close to home for children facing kidney disease in the Watertown area,” said Kastl.  “My goal is to help those children and their families find some normalcy in their lives as they work through a complicated diagnoses and disease.”

Kastl specializes in pediatric nephrology with expertise in glomerulonephritis, Nephrotic syndrome, hypertension plus acute and chronic dialysis.

A native of Kansas, Kastl also practices at Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls. He resides in Sioux Falls with his wife and three daughters.
