Mercy's Rodriguez Receives 2014 CEO Diversity Champions Award

CHE Trinity Health, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion has announced that Patricia Rodriguez was awarded the 2014 D & I Diversity Leader of the Year Award.  Rodriguez, Human Resource Manager at Mercy Medical Center, was nominated by the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of Mercy Sioux City's Board of Directors currently chaired by Annette Hamilton.  A distinguished review committee selected Pat to receive this honor 

Rodriguez held a leadership role with various programs including Mercy's HOLA Program (Healthcare Opportunities for Latino Advancement), "Pathways to Healthcare Careers" Program, and the first co-hort for Project Search in Siouxland which is a high school transitions program designed to transition young adults with disabilities into employment within the work place.  This program includes a one school-year internship program in partnership with the Omaha Nation and Winnebago Public Schools, Nebraska VR, Educational Service Unit 1, Nebraska Assistive Technology Partnership and Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired. 

Rodriguez was also the lead project person to implement and formalize Mercy's current Affirmative Action Plan, a best practice model for Mercy Health Network, the Iowa Regional Health Ministry.
