UnityPoint Health – St. Luke's Celebrates Remarkable June With 207 Births

UnityPoint Health – St. Luke's, the leading birth center in Siouxland, announces a new milestone of 207 births in the month of June. The hospital's dedicated team, including labor and delivery professionals, mom and baby specialists, NICU staff, and housekeeping personnel, worked tirelessly to ensure the health and well-being of both mothers and infants.

“The month of June showcased the unwavering commitment of our team to provide excellent care and support for families throughout the Siouxland community,” said Mary Olhausen, Director of Women’s and Children’s Services at St. Luke’s. Among the 207 births, there were 104 baby girls and 103 baby boys.

The bustling day of June 20 marked a pinnacle in St. Luke's delivery room, with a remarkable 14 babies born, cementing it as the busiest day of the month. This significant day exemplifies the hospital's capacity to handle multiple deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of care for each mother and newborn.

“I will forever be grateful to the incredible team at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke's for their exceptional care during the birth of my twins amidst such a busy month,” said Leah McInerney, a mother who delivered twins in June. “Their expertise and support made all the difference, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.”

Comparing the numbers to the previous month, UnityPoint Health – St. Luke's witnessed a notable increase in newborns. June saw 30 more births than May, demonstrating a growing demand for the hospital's labor and delivery services. Within just 10 days, the birth center experienced 85 deliveries.
