The South Dakota Association Of Healthcare Organizations’ (SDAHO) 2023 Rural Health Leaders Announced Speaker Line-Up

The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) is excited to announce the speaker line-up for this year’s Rural Health Leaders Conference, taking place June 27-28, 2023, in Ft. Pierre.

Our Featured speakers include:

  • Eric Schell, Chairman, Stroudwater Associates.

    Eric will be presenting: South Dakota Medicaid Eligibility and Enrollment. Attendees will receive an in-depth look at the industry as a whole and at the struggles faced by rural and community hospitals, outlining strategies for these facilities to not only survive, but thrive in the fast-approaching era of population health.

  • Sarah Aker, SD DSS Medicaid Director

    Sarah will be presenting: New Future of Rural Healthcare: Strategies for Success. Attendees will receive information as they pertain to changes coming to South Dakota Medicaid! The Department of Social Services will provide updates on Medicaid expansion, eligibility, and other upcoming changes.

  • Nita Dunham, MS, RN, CMAC, CDP, Systems Director of Case Management, Monument Health.

    Nita will be presenting: Improving Care Transitions Through Communication & Data. Attendees will learn how a South Dakota health system created an engaged, multifaceted care team approach and how this played a significant role in lowering costs, improving care coordination and patient outcomes by minimizing the risk of longer stay hospital-acquired conditions and reducing costly readmissions.
