Sioux Falls has been named the nation's 8th 'Happiest City' by WalletHub. In light of the fact that 83 percent of Americans report feeling stressed out by the economy, the personal finance website released its new report in March to coincide with the 'International Day of Happiness'. 

WalletHub compared more than 180 of the largest U.S. cities across 30 key indicators of happiness. The data set ranges from depression rate to income-growth rate to average leisure time spent per day.

Happiness in Sioux Falls (1=Happiest, 91=Avg.):

  • 23rd – Depression Rate

  • 9th – Adequate-Sleep Rate

  • 46th – Sports-Participation Rate

  • 1st – Unemployment Rate

  • 42nd – Separation & Divorce Rate
