Provider Relief Fund Reporting Deadline for Period 2 is Quickly Approaching: What You Need to Know by Eide Bailly

To all of our healthcare community, we wanted to alert you to an impending deadline for reporting of PRF you may have received. If you received Provider Relief Fund (PRF) payment(s) exceeding $10,000 between the dates of July 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020, these funds are required to be reported in the HHS PRF reporting portal by Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 11:59 PM ET.

This would include any payments received as part of any of the following distributions:

  • July 2020 distributions to safety net acute hospitals and certain specialty rural providers

  • July 2020 COVID-19 high-impact distribution

  • August 2020 distributions to nursing homes and certain children’s hospital

  • September 2020 Phase 2 general distributions for assisted living facilities

  • September - December 2020 nursing home quality incentive payments

Failure to report by the deadline will result in noncompliance with the PRF Terms and Conditions and result in payments being required to be returned to HRSA. Noncompliance providers will also be excluded from receiving and retaining future PRF payments, including Phase 4 payments. HRSA has shown to abide by final deadlines and have requested repayment from noncompliant providers from Reporting Period 1.

Providers who were required to report in Reporting Period 1, but did not report:

  • You are out of compliance with the PRF Terms and Conditions and must return your Payment Period 1 PRF payment(s) to HRSA.

  • Non-compliant providers will be excluded from receiving and/or retaining future PRF payments – including any applicable Phase 4 payments.

  • HRSA will seek repayment on all PRF payments received between April 10, 2020 - June 30, 2020 and not reported on during Reporting Period 1.

A variety of resources and the reporting portal can be accessed on the Provider Relief Fund Reporting Requirements and Auditing portion of Health Resources & Services Administration’s website. Our team of advisors are available to help you navigate the reporting process.
