Money Follows The Person Program Advisory Group To Meet May 7 To Discuss In-Home And Community-Based Services For North Dakotans With Disabilities

North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) Money Follows the Person (MFP) program stakeholders are meeting Tuesday, May 7, 1-4 p.m. CT at the Northeast Human Service Center in Grand Forks, 151 S. Fourth St., Suite 401, to review and discuss ongoing efforts to serve North Dakotans with disabilities closer to home and outside of institutional settings.  

The stakeholder group advises HHS on in-home and community-based services for Medicaid-eligible individuals with disabilities. 

Since the program’s inception in 2008, the Money Follows the Person program has helped 944 eligible North Dakota Medicaid members with disabilities move from nursing homes, the Life Skills and Transition Center and other facilities to apartments, family members’ homes or other types of community living arrangements with supportive services from partner agencies. Participation in transition services is voluntary.

The meeting agenda includes discussion and updates on the MFP operational protocol along with the new MFP work plan, the ND transition and diversion services pilot project, housing services collaborative, supplemental services, quality measure set, committee member recruitment and more. 

During the meeting, the HHS Life Skills and Transition Center and Developmental Disabilities Section will share updates on their work supporting individuals in the community.  

In addition, the MFP program reports such as transition benchmarks, the tribal initiative and other committee identified topics will be discussed. Members will also have an opportunity to share updates. A meeting notice with the full agenda is online at hhs.nd.gov/news/publicnotice.
