Rotating 8 – 12-hour day shifts with rotating weekends, holidays and on-call.
DUTIES: Responsible for providing clinical respiratory and cardiopulmonary procedures for patients according to defined policies and procedures of the department and the hospital. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the needs of the patient. Administers all types of routine and special respiratory therapy including medical gasses, drugs, and life-support equipment.
Frequently consults with physicians concerning the effects of treatment modalities and equipment. Performs additional procedures including but not limited to cardiac stress testing, ECG’s, Holter Monitoring, and pulmonary function testing.
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care. Registered or certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the State of South Dakota required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, NRPs and ACLS preferred.
