NDHA Announces Partnership to Protect Members from Cyber Attacks

In an innovative move, the North Dakota Hospital Association (NDHA) is excited to  announce 'Cyber Cover' a cutting-edge cybersecurity initiative designed to protect  members from the rising tide of cyberattacks. This groundbreaking initiative will reduce  risk and costs for NDHA members by leveraging Critical Insight's comprehensive  cybersecurity solutions, including their Managed Detection and Response and Virtual Chief  Information Security Officer services, tailored specifically to reduce the cyber risks faced by  healthcare organizations.

The cyber security coverage of the program is offered through  Marsh McLennan Agency together with Tokio Marine HCC – Cyber & Professional Lines  Group (TMHCC), a member of the Tokio Marine HCC group of companies.

In today's digital age, the healthcare sector finds itself in the cross hairs of cyber criminals, with the recent breach at Change Healthcare underscoring the pressing need for more robust defenses. To address this challenge, NDHA, through subsidiary HSl solutions, has partnered with Critical Insight to offer members a partner  that will protect their operations and guide them through regulatory cyber compliance.  Critical Insight's role as a preferred provider by the American Hospital Association for  cybersecurity services underscores its commitment and expertise in addressing the unique  challenges of the healthcare industry.

A concerning trend reported by the Department of Health and Human Services reveals  a 93% increase in significant healthcare breaches from 2018 to 2022, with the average  breach costing an astounding $10.93 million. This alarming statistic highlights the

critical need for healthcare entities to enhance their cyber defenses, ensuring the safety  of both patients and providers. The rising trend in cyber breaches has consequently led  to increased premiums for cyber insurance, impacting organizations financially.

Tim Blasl, NDHA President, remarks, "Our members will gain unparalleled benefits that  extend beyond traditional cybersecurity services. Through our relationship with Critical  Insight, together with Marsh McLennan Agency and Tokio Marine, NDHA members can

lower their cybersecurity risks and those who qualify willreceive a competitive option on their cyber insurance. This not only strengthens their cybersecurity resilience but  also delivers exceptional value by mitigating financial impacts."

Casey Holland, Marsh McLennan Agency, added, “What sets Cyber Cover apart is its  collaborative nature and the bespoke solutions it offers to meet the specific needs of NDHA members and the broader healthcare community in North Dakota. It's a  comprehensive approach to helping our hospitals combat cyber threats and provide a  substantial offering on their cyber liability insurance."

"We cannot expect our hospitals to go alone in the fight against Nation-State  ransomware criminals. Joining forces on behalf of North Dakota's hospitals will save  lives," said Jake Milstein, Chief Marketing Officer of Critical Insight.
