Children’s Hospital & Medical Center has been named a Best Children’s Hospital by the Women’s Choice Award®, America’s trusted referral source for the best in health care. Children’s also earned its Best Children’s Emergency Care Award, based on being an accredited pediatric trauma center and offering a regional pediatric intensive care unit.

“This recognition reflects our commitment to providing the highest quality of care and best experience for the children and families we’re entrusted to serve,” says Richard G. Azizkhan, M.D., President & CEO, Children’s Hospital & Medical Center.

“Our Best Children’s Hospitals award helps raise awareness of the top quality care offered for children—not only the critically ill—with specialists, services and technologies for their unique needs,” says Delia Passi, founder and CEO of the Women’s Choice Award, and former publisher of Working Woman and Working Mother magazines. “We found in our studies that 75 percent of women associate children’s hospitals with care for seriously ill children and nearly 50 percent of women are unfamiliar with the offerings of a children’s hospital. Our goal at the Women’s Choice Award is to help moms—and parents—make educated, confident decisions about where to take their children for a wide range of health care services.”

The list of 38 award winners, including Children’s in Omaha, represents hospitals that have met the highest standards for pediatric care. The award criteria review five different facility areas to determine eligibility: pediatric services, technology and family resources, board-certified staff, nurses and support staff and the facility’s commitment to quality.
