Avera Website Wins National Gold Award

Avera Health and its web vendor, Geonetric of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, have received the Gold Award in the Website Campaign of the Year category as part of the fourth annual Healthcare Marketing IMPACT Awards competition. Finalists in that category included Walgreens, HCA Midwest, Veran Medical, AbbVie and Cape Cod Healthcare.
The IMPACT competition is sponsored by Modern Healthcare and its sister publication Advertising Age. The award was presented at a Nov. 7 dinner in Chicago during Modern Healthcare's annual Strategic Marketing Conference.
The awards recognize the best in health care advertising, marketing, promotion and communication campaigns across all types of media platforms.
A distinguished panel of judges chose the top messaging campaigns by providers, insurers, pharmaceutical companies, suppliers, vendors and advocacy groups that were designed to responsibly inform and educate health care consumers.
More than 200 entries were submitted, representing several types of marketing campaigns. Gold, silver and bronze winners in the industry sector subcategories are announced in a special section in the Nov. 13 issue of Modern Healthcare and online.
In June 2016, Avera launched a new system-wide website, Avera.org, with an emphasis on user friendliness and easy navigation.
The new Avera.org focuses on health services at the system level, and then directs web visitors to Avera locations and providers that offer those services, plus important patient and visitor information. Avera.org features:
A responsive design, whether the visitor is using a desktop computer, tablet or mobile phone
Navigation that makes it easy for consumers to complete common tasks: Find a physician, find a health plan, find a location or find a job
Search Engine Optimization strategies to result in better results for Internet searches
Consumer-centered content that’s short and to the point
Attention-getting call-to-action panels
