Art Panels to Improve the View for Cancer Patients

May 27, 2016 10:00AM, Published by MED Magazine, Categories: In Print, Arts+Culture, Today, News

Rapid City Regional Hospital Regional Cancer Care Institute recently unveiled four outdoor art panels as part of a collaboration with the Suzie Cappa Arts Center and the  (RCRH) Regional Cancer Care Institute (CCI).

The panels painted by Suzie Cappa Art Center artists have been placed near the concrete wall on the east side of CCI to help enhance patient views from chemotherapy room windows that face the industrial-looking area.

The project was the brainchild of senior groundskeeper Rich Karsky, who approached CCI and the Arts Center with the idea. Four artists participated in the project. Regional Health and the Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary purchased the outdoor panels and supporting framework and Suzie Cappa donated the design time and supplies to paint the panels.

The Suzie Cappa Art Center is a non-profit studio that supports artists of all abilities in creating inspiring art.
