If you’re in Family Medicine or Pediatrics and feel like you’re seeing more Emmas, Jacksons,
Carsons and Mias in your practice, it’s not your imagination. These were among the top baby names for 2015 at a couple of area healthcare institutions.
Emma was the most popular name for newborn girls at Sanford Health in 2015, while Jackson topped the list for boys. Emma jumps to the top spot after ranking third in 2014. Jackson was the fourth most popular name for a baby boy in 2014.

Meanwhile, Mia and Carson topped the list of most popular names for new babies born in 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.
Among the list of other most chosen names for newborn boys were Easton, Noah, Landon and Lucas.
Other favorite names for newborn girls were Ava, Lillian, Amelia and Violet.
Some of the more unique names for girls were Janessa, Berklee, Worthy and Teagan.
Among the more original names for boys were Axel, Holden, Jett and Gideon.
