St. Luke’s College – UnityPoint Health Announces Promotions

Sioux City, IA - St. Luke’s College – UnityPoint Health announces the promotion of the following faculty:

 

Pam Briese, MS, MLS(ASCP)CMSCCM, has been promoted to Associate Professor in the Division of Medical Laboratory Science Education. In her position, she provides clinical and 

 classroom instruction of students in the Medical Laboratory Science and Phlebotomy programs and serves as the Department Chair for Medical Laboratory Science Education. As an employee of St. Luke’s College since 2004, Briese held a previous position as the Assistant Professor in Medical Laboratory Science Education Department. Prior to this position, she worked as medical laboratory scientist in the laboratory at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s for 25 years.

 





Lori Hoesing, MS, RN has been promoted to Associate Professor in the Division of Nursing Education.  In her new position, she provides classroom and clinical instruction for Associate

  Degree students in the Advanced Nursing Course. As an employee of St. Luke’s College since 2001, Hoesing held a previous position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing Education. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount Marty College, Yankton, South Dakota, and a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty as a Nurse Educator from South Dakota State University.

 





Beth Sitzmann, MSN, RN, CNE, has been promoted to Associate Professor in the Division of Nursing Education.  In her position, she provides classroom and clinical instruction for second

  semester students in the Associate Degree program. As an employee of St. Luke’s College since 2010, Sitzmann held a previous position as Assistant Professor in the Division of Nursing Education. As a Certified Nurse Educator, she has a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Iowa and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix.

 





Pam Fox, MSN, RN, has been promoted to Assistant Professor in the Division of Nursing Education.  In her position, she provides classroom and clinical instruction for first semester

  students in the Associate Degree program. Fox has been an employee of St. Luke’s College since 2012 and has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from University of Missouri - Sinclair School of Nursing.

 






St. Luke’s College has enrolled a record 258 students for the Fall of 2014 in its professional health care programs. The record number of students represents a 34% increase from the Fall of 2013 and includes students in the College’s new Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Health Science degree completion programs.

 

St. Luke’s College, located at 2800 Pierce Street in Sioux City, Iowa, has Bachelor’s Degree Completion Programs in Nursing and Health Sciences; Associate Degree Programs in Nursing, Radiologic Technology and Respiratory Care; Certificate Programs in Medical Laboratory Science and Phlebotomy; and Specialty Certifications in Sonography, CT, MRI, and Mammography; and a Clinical Pastoral Education Program.
