St. Luke’s College – UnityPoint Health Announces Dean Appointments

Sioux City, IA - St. Luke’s College – UnityPoint Health announces the appointment and promotion of three current members of the St. Luke’s College leadership team to the position of Dean.
Dr. Susan Bowers, EdD, MSN, RN, Dean of Nursing, will provide administrative leadership to
all nursing education programs and services of the
College. With 23 years of previous experience at St. Luke’s College, Bowers
will also continue to serve as Department Chair of the RN to BSN program.
Dr. Dan Jensen, Dean of Health Sciences, will provide administrative leadership to the Departments of Respiratory Care Education, Imaging Sciences Education, Medical
Laboratory Sciences Education and Clinical Pastoral Education. With seven years of previous experience at St. Luke’s College, Jensen will also continue to serve as the Department Chair of Imaging Sciences Education and provide similar leadership to the College’s Bachelor of Health Science and general education programs and services.
Danelle Johannsen, MA, BS, Dean of Student Services, will provide administrative
leadership to Student Services and to the Library. With 17 years of previous experience at St. Luke’s College, Johannsen will also continue to serve as the Department Chair of Student & Administrative Services.
St. Luke’s College has enrolled a record 258 students for the Fall of 2014 in its professional health care programs. The record number of students represents a 34% increase from the Fall of 2013 and includes students in the College’s new Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Health Science degree completion programs.
St. Luke’s College, located at 2800 Pierce Street in Sioux City, Iowa, has Bachelor’s Degree Completion Programs in Nursing and Health Sciences; Associate Degree Programs in Nursing, Radiologic Technology and Respiratory Care; Certificate Programs in Medical Laboratory Science and Phlebotomy; and Specialty Certifications in Sonography, CT, MRI, and Mammography; and a Clinical Pastoral Education Program.
